Shreyas Sharma

Shreyas Sharma has over 17 years of experience working as a learner & a student. He is deeply passionate about Robotics, AI & Aerospace. Previously, he worked as an 8th grader, refining the fine arts of Mathematics & Science, where he excelled, earning him a degree to move on into 10th Grade. Currently, Shreyas is studying at Concordia Shanghai International School, as a 10th grader.

In Shreyas’s pre-graduate studies, he’s taken on various leadership roles, varying from the launching of the Middle School Aerospace Club to the Robotics Club. Recently, at the start of 2021, he was invited by the school to launch the MS Aerospace Club. The club is dedicated to collective learning, understanding current applications, and imagining the possibilities of the near future. In 2020, Shreyas also received his CAAC Drone Pilot License, authorizing him to pilot in public space. His current project is an Autonomous Hexacopter, with heavy lift capabilities of up to 10 kilograms, onboard obstacle avoidance and real-time sensor-to-cloud transmissions.

In 2019, Shreyas Sharma, and his team won RoboRave International 3rd Prize, Open Platform Sumobot. The competition tested his natural teamwork, leadership, and creativity skills through a range of robots, designed, developed, and demonstrated. In 2022, Shreyas Sharma released his first book: The Evolving Landscape Of Drones, in which he discusses the various applications of drone technology throughout many industries.

If you catch him outside school, he’s an adventurous traveler – 20 countries and counting – an avid lover of Tennis, Robotics, and Drones!

Project Highlight:

Project Prokyon

Project Prokyon is a fully autonomous industrial hexacopter, designed for chemical pipeline inspection and surveys. It proposes a fully autonomous and self-contained UAV inspection solution capable of operating in GPS-denied environments without pre mapping or external computers required, utilizing advanced real-time path planning g algorithms utilizing a LiDAR and stereoscopic SLAM system along with a modular GSS. Project Prokyon was exhibited to Henkel.
